Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced Adobe"® Creative Suite"® 6 Student and Teacher Edition for institutions, educators and students in India. The new release and supporting educational resources help K-12 and higher education institutions enhance teaching and learning, and better prepare students for their future careers in a digital, global workplace. The release comprises 14 new CS6 point products and four Creative Suite editions and is a significant release for the Indian education sector.

Umang Bedi, Managing Director - South Asia, Adobe Systems said that digital technology was increasingly important in the education sector across Asia Pacific nations. "Research conducted by Adobe in March this year showed that over 81% of educators in APAC believe it is very important to incorporate creativity tools in the curriculum to help students prepare for a 21st century workplace," he said. "This indicates a fundamental shift in thinking, away from the rote learning style of former years to embrace the realities of a new digital era and the needs of a global, collaboration-oriented, knowledge-centric workforce." Umang said that 55% of APAC educators surveyed by Adobe believe there would be a significant increase in the role of digital technology such as e-textbooks, content, and tablets in classroom work over the next five years. In March 2012, Adobe surveyed 500 respondents representing all major APAC countries including: Australia, New Zealand, Korea, India, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
