If you dreamt about joining an Engineering college after your class 12th results came out and have been eagerly waiting for the counseling to begin, your wait is about to be over in no time. The DTE (Directorate of Technical Education) has finally rolled out the counseling notification to the various Universities for the 2016-17 academic session.
A notification from the office of the DTE has been sent to all the technical institutes in the country that come under the purview of the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
The colleges can't admit the students directly and the counseling committee of the DTE will ensure that the admissions are given in the colleges based on the JEE Mains merit list only. The merit holders which can placed in the list would have a shot at the colleges in the 1st and the 2nd counseling.
There are a total of 87,804 engineering seats in the country and the counseling would see the participation of Madhya Pradesh and as well as outside students. As many as 206 colleges are eligible to hold admissions for this session.
Though most of the seats are filled in the counseling, the general trend is that a number of seats are vacated in the later months as the students opt for other choices.
As soon as the official dates for the counseling are out, we will notify you here at Brainbuxa. Keep checking our news section for more.
