On January 17th, The Indian Institute of Chartered
Accountant (ICAI) declared results of the Chartered Accountants (CA) final
examination and Common Proficiency Test (CPT).
What is surprising was that a small villager called Somnath
Giram, qualified this exam. He is 28 years old and hails from Solapur district
and sells tea at a joint in Sadashiv Peth area. Due to this achievement, he has
been appointed as the brand ambassador of Maharashtra government's 'earn and
learn' scheme.
To this news, Maharashtra State Education Minister, Vinod
Tawde said that finally good days have arrived as tea seller became prime
minister and now Somnath cleared the CA exam. This is inspiring for students
so, he announced him as the brand ambassador for 'earn and learn' scheme of the
state (government).
Somnath reacted to this news by saying that he came to know
about this news through media i.e. he became the brand ambassador for
Maharashtra scheme and is very happy. He will now work towards improving
situation of poor students.
