ELIGIBILITY:
There are a number of ways of joining the armed forces.
Each method requires different sets of eligibility criterions.
- Students passing out of school can apply for armed forces by taking up the NDA exam followed by UPSC and SSB interviews.
- Graduates can apply after they had completed a recognised bachelor's degree by appearing for the Combined Defence Exam (CDSE) and then appearing for the UPSC and SSB interview.
- Apart from that, there is a university appearance scheme for engineering students as well. This scheme is applicable for final year and pre-final year engineering students. A written test is not required under this scheme.
- Even students at their school level could join the IMA (Indian Military Academy). This is only applicable for those students who have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12 and needs at least a 70% aggregate to apply.
