- UPSC Civil Services Exam:
Held by the Union Public Service Commission of India, this exam is the most difficult and long exam in India. Comprising of different levels, each hard to crack; this exam requires exorbitant amount of knowledge in every sphere of life. If there is an exam that expects you to know about every this and that it has to be the Civil Services Exam.
This exam is held in steps; first a preliminary written round in aptitude is conducted after which a main test is conducted. After clearing both of these exams the candidate is called for a personal interview. Plus, the whole procedure stretches across the span of a year!
And if unfortunately, you are unable to qualify any of the three rounds, you have to appear next year, from the very start!
- IIT JEE:
The next toughest exam held in India for entrance into the leading public engineering colleges of India; The Indian Institutes of Technology is another exam that churns out the best lot of engineers in India. This exam is taken up by candidates right after they have finished their intermediate examinations. It is the most competitive exam of all because lacks of candidates write the exam for a few thousand seats. The success rates are quite marginal for individual candidates. This exam extracts the crème de la crème of students and clearing it is supposed to be the height of achievement of an Indian student.
- CAT:
Commonly called CAT, the Common Aptitude Test for entry into the MBA programme offered by the Indian Institutes of Management is another extremely competitive and tough exam in India. The premium business and management schools that take admission of the basis of this exam all have separate rounds of interviews and group discussions to judge students based on their verbal aptitude and spontaneity. From among lacks, only a few thousand manage to get the percentile required for admission in the IIMs.
- AIIMS:
The dream destination for all medical students in India, AIIMS conducts an all India exam for entry into public medical colleges all over India. Every single medical aspirant wishes to clear this exam so that they do not have to pay lacks of rupees for admission into an MBBS course.
- GATE:
Landing a seat in M.E/M.Tech in IITs an IISc requires cracking this exam. GATE score are also looked up when you want to get selected for PSU companies which operate under the Indian Government.
