The higher education in India has come down to such a level which is now more like a hectic routine than an extra ordinary one. It has become a habit and rule for everyone which they do it as they are compelled to.
There is no innovation or improvement in the field of higher education in India where other parts of the developing world are improving and enhancing their higher education to a large extent. We can often hear that developed worlds like America and UK are doing great job in science and literature.
Seeing this present condition of India, the present president Mr. Pranab Mukherjee was upset and told that the normal fashion of higher education cannot go on like this as it was going for so long. It has to be raised to a higher and quality level as soon as possible to come at par with other nations.
He even told this that not a single university of India could position themselves among the top two hundred lists of colleges of global rank. He added a suggestion saying that to place an Indian institution among that prestigious list, students of India need to work really hard. It is not that easy to bring one institution in that list as that list comprises of one of the finest institutions from different parts of the world.
The president of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee requested all the institutions to work together more efficiently and maintain a proper synchronization among one another. When all the departments will start working together with better sync, it is obvious that the outcome will be quite better. As stated by Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, "Our academic syllabus is not up to the highest standards as recognized by world universities.
We are not emphasizing on ranking ourselves. We have to be careful". This speech has been given by the president at an important seminar at an important university of North East which is called the Hill University. He went over there to inaugurate a club in that institution which will deal in researches performed by the students of that institution.
The club will be doing researches on various subjects. Another important suggestion given by the president is that students of India should enhance the bond between India and other nations by exchanging study materials. There are various ways nowadays of how one can contact people with other parts of the world, so this job will not be tough.
This will let us know their way of studying and their quality and system of education better and will also let us know whether we are advance than them in any respect. He told that various departments of education in India will be provided with more facilities so that teaching standard can go higher and teachers can teach more efficiently. This suggestion has been given by many famous personalities before also such as Amartya Sen and Hargobind Khurana. Mr. Mukherjee is very worried about the quality of education prevailing in India at present and that is why he gave so any suggestions.
