The ICSE board releases its own rankings in the different categories every year. This year has seen the emergence of a lot of schools. There were a total of about 725 schools from across 21 states across the country that participated in the rankings. These rankings mean a lot to many schools. Some of the schools take a lot of pride in being a part of these rankings and awards.
This year 3 schools from Lucknow were found in the top 10 schools. For the first time in history the rankings were done according to the ISC board examination marks. The rankings were done on 15 different parameters. Loreto convent High School was placed in 8th place followed by La Martini ere Boys College in 9t place and La Martini ere Girls College in 10th position. All three have shown a lot of improvement from last year.
Last year they were placed in 38th, 44th and 49th positions respectively. In the boarding cum day school category Sheiling House School has been ranked no one in Uttar Pradesh and 41st in India. CMS Gomtinagar has been ranked no1 in the co-education schools category. Not just that CMS Gomtinagar has also secured a place in the top three schools of the country on the basis of the ISC marks.
They have the maximum number of students who have scored above the 90% mark in the 12th standard ISC examinations. Along with them the other two schools in the top 3 of the rankings are Lilavati Poddar high School in Mumbai and Modern High School for girls in Kolkata. This was a sheer moment of pride for all the schools who have managed to improve from the performance of last year.
The parameters that were laid for making the rankings were academic performance of the students, participation of the parents in the school activities. The activities of the school towards society and the extracurricular activities of the students were also taken into account to decide the ranks. Faculty of the school and the Value for money was also taken into account to make the judgment fair enough.
Vasant Valley School from Delhi has been ranked the best in the country for the co-education day school category. Similarly in the co-education boarding school category the Rishi Valley School of Chittor has been placed in top position. Modern High School, Kolkata was the best in the girls day school category and Welham Girls School Dehradun was the best in the girls boarding schools.
For the boys day school category Campion School Mumbai was placed in the first position and in the day boarding category Doon School was ranked in 1st position. Bangalore Valley School was placed in the top position according to the rankings in the day cum boarding category for boys. These schools have performed well to achieve the position that they are in. only a matter of time will tell whether the leaders will be able to hold their position or they will be knocked of the perch in the coming year.
