High school education required to pursue an Engineering Degree
To pursue the dream of becoming an engineer one needs to work very hard. Â Having a science background in school is the first staple requirement to become eligible to apply for a college degree in engineering. While the subject of Computers is an optional requirement, however, it is a recommended option. Entrance Examination:
Simply scoring well in high school is not enough to ensure a place in a good engineering college. There are a few other hoops that one has to cross. One of these hoops is the JEE or the Joint Entrance Examination. Preparing for this entrance examination is not easy. It is not something that can be managed right after graduating from high school. In order to get a high rank in this examination one has to start working for it during high school.
There are several successful training institutes which help students in attaining the analytical skills which are required to clear this examination with flying colors. Students all over the country prepare for this examination. With every year the competition is only rising higher. So in order to get a high rank in this examination one has to work very hard.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering:
While there is also a diploma course for engineering however, it is not a preferred course for students looking a lucrative civil engineering post. One requires a professional degree in India in order to be considered seriously as a civil engineer. There are many great colleges which offer the course curriculum required to become a civil engineer. In order to become a successful Civil Engineer one needs to have a good rank in the JEE in order to get into a good college.
Another thing one needs to understand about having a career as a civil engineer is the fact that it is field work oriented job which requires a lot of research and a keen understanding of the skills of designing, fluid mechanics, hydraulics, computer techniques, construction management and many other skills which the option of civil engineering provides. However, before pursuing this course as a career one must have an interest in this field as well as the aptitude for it. It s a job which requires a visionary approach, so before pursuing it one should be completely comfortable with the idea of long hours of work and navigating the fields from time to time.
