Teach for India Fellowship:
This fellowship is one of the most prestigious fellowships is the country. One needs to have excellent communication skills and a strong urge to work for spreading education in India. This fellowship is awarded only to those people who have a leadership experience and a potential to teach. It gives you a chance to be a part of a program that is entirely driven by the vision of making India educated. The following stipend and allowances are provided to the members.
Stipend: Rs. 17,500 per month + Housing Allowance Rs.5500 to 8300
The trainees are given a five week long training after which the fellows are required to start teaching by the means of conferences, online resources, ground monitoring programs and other training sessions. After the completion of the training, the fellows take up an assignment at the end.
Gandhi Fellowship:
This two year old residential fellowship program assists talented youths to develop leadership skills which are required to bring about positive changes in the society. Fellows are given a basic stipend of 14,000 along with other allowances related to residential needs. There a number of teaching and learning workshops that are conducted during the tenure of the fellowship. Each fellow is assigned the responsibility of about five schools to bring about a transformation in the assigned schools in the tenure of their fellowship.
Azim Premji Fellowship Program:
This fellowship program is basically dedicated to the improvement of the quality of education in rural India. Fellows are given the opportunity to learn, analyse and to teach those who are deprived of knowledge in the rural areas of the country. This fellowship is also stretched across a span of two years where fellows develop an understanding with the locals to make them aware of the importance and need of education. District institutes are largely benefited by this fellowship.
Prime Minister's Rural Fellowship:
This fellowship is directed towards improving the quality of life of the residents of rural areas of the country by reducing poverty in those areas. This fellowship is given in collaboration with the state governments. One needs to connect with the local language and customs of the area for which they are working. Fellows work with institutions of the poor to build their capacity and aid them access their rights and entitlements.
