A Brief Introduction
The University, founded in the year 1966 has 14 faculties with most universities on the main campus, the Downtown Campus. It is the leading member of the U15 Canadian research Universities. It is situated in Calgary, Alberta.
The University was ranked 1st in both Canada and North America by the QS World Universities Ranking.
Campus
The main campus is located near the Bow River and a smaller campus is near the city centre. In the centre of the main campus, a large park home to several sculptures. The park contains old oak trees which were brought especially when the University opened.
The University is 10 km north of Downtown Calgary and occupies 213 hectares.

Student Facilities
1. MacEwan Hall Ballroom, a concert hall which can hold
about 1000 people. It is also used for conferences, dinners and debates.
2. A Rozsa centre, which is a theatre and concert hall.

Accommodation
There are two traditional buildings, Rundle Hall and
Kananaskis Hall , and 5 new buildings : Glacier, Olympus,Norquay,Brewster and
Castle Halls are available for students.
