A Brief Introduction
The University of Alberta, also known as UAlberta, was established in 1908 by the first chief of Alberta, Alexander Cameron Rutherford with Henry Marshall Tony as its first President. Situated in Edmont, Alberta, Canada, the University is a public research University with the motto is “Whatsoever Things Are True”. The University employs 15,000 people which make it the 4th largest employer of Alberta. Around 39,000 students from Canada and 150 International students study in the university every year.
It is consistently ranked amongst the top 100 universities of the world by Times Higher Education World University, QS World University and in the top 5 of Canada’s Universities.
Campus
The University has 4 beautiful campuses which are situated on different locations. They all provide more than just a study location for students.
North Campus:
Spread across 250 acres, this campus is situated along the North Saskatchewan River bank. It is home to more than 39,000 students.
South campus:
Situated just a few kms South from the North campus, this campus is larger in space and also has Seville Community Sports centre, which is a recreational centre for students. It spreads across 32,500 km sq.
Campus Saint Jean :
This campus is situated in five kilometres east from the main campus in Edmonton’s Francophone Neighbourhood and has around 750 students, which is why the students here receive more specialised and personal attention. The Bibliotheque Saint Jean is the biggest francophone library in western Canada.
Augustana Campus:
This campus is in a small rural city of Alberta, Camrose. It has around 1,000 students and one can get all the facilities.

Facilities
The University has more than 450 student
organizations which range from Academics, Cultural, religion, Social issues,
and many recreational facilities for students. The University also boasts of
its own radio, television channel and newspaper edition for students who are
interested in these fields.
Fine infrastructure, cafeterias are also
available for the students. It also has several fitness and sports associations
like: Volley ball, Basket ball, Soccer, Cricket etc .

Alumni
The University boasts of more than 25,000
known alumni who also come to the university to give motivational speeches to
