A Brief Introduction

Established in the year 1807, the University of Pennsylvania was the first in America to adopt and follow a multidisciplinary, which was up till then only followed in Europe. The motto of the University, ‘Laws without morals are useless’ was inspired by Horace. The University boasts of producing the maximum number of millionaires at undergraduate level. At worldwide level, the university was ranked eighth the 2015 edition of theU.S. News Top 20 National Universities.

**NOTE: All full time students of the University to note that it is mandatory for them to pay for Student Health Service, whether or not they have alternate medical insurances. Full time students who are not enrolled to the Penn Student Insurance Program have to pay a Clinical Fee ($514 for Academic Year 2015-16), twice a year, i.e., every semester . Information regarding coverage premiums for the Penn Student Health Insurance Plan is available by contacting the Student Health Insurance Office by phone at 215-573-3523, by email at shinsur@pobox.upenn.edu, or via their website: http://www.vpul.upenn.edu/shs/insurance.php.
