A Brief Introduction
Founded by John D. Rockefeller, the University of Chicago was established in the year 1890 in Illinois and is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
As per QS World University Rankings and the Times, University of Chicago lies at the 11th position whereas ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities), ranked the university at the 9th position.
Campus
Spreading across and area of 211 acres, the University is situated just about 7 miles from the main city of Chicago.

Student Facilities
The University has more than 300 active student organizations. These include:
- A newspaper,
- A debate society
- Sport teams.
- Student-run radio station
The University theater is used by student actors, playwrights, designers and technicians annually for presenting plays.
The University of Chicago owns a proper library system with six libraries within the campus. It contains a total of 9.8 million volumes from all fields.
Accommodation
The University has several residence halls in the campus for student accommodation. These include Single rooms and double rooms.
It also has a large dorm which is divided into several houses and each dorm has its own master. Students can choose out of the available options for accommodation.
