A Brief Introduction
The ETH, Zurich (known as Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, German: Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich) is the sister institution of EPFL. Like it, it is part of the the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Domain (ETH Domain) that is directly subordinate to Switzerland's Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research. The University is renowned for its courses in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and management. It enjoys high reputation especially in the fields of chemistry, mathematics and physics.
ETH has been ranked as one of the world’s top most Universities since a long time. Currently, it ranks as the 5th best university if the fields of engineering, science and technology, just behind the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Cambridge University and National University of Singapore in the QS World University Rankings.
Campus
Situated in Zurich, the University has two campuses. Its main building was constructed in the 1860s, right in the heart of the city. The University has since then grown and spread into its surrounding quarters.
As of date, the Zetrum campus consists of various buildings and institutions throughout Zürich and firmly integrates the ETH in the city. The main building stands directly across the street from the University of Zürich.

Tuition Fees
The tuition and semester fee are same for Swiss and non-Swiss students. It is in accordance with the Fee Ordinance of the ETH Domain
Tuition fee: CHF 580 per semester
The tuition fee covers the enrolment in all courses. It is payable for each regular semester and for the semester in which the Master’s thesis is written.
Students enrolled in a Bachelor’s program and then directly follow a Master’s program are only charged with one tuition fee.
Students who are enrolled in more than one study program (additional enrolment in a different program) have to pay the tuition fees for each enrolment.
