A Brief Introduction
Often referred to as DTU, the Technical University of Denmark (Danish: Danmarks Tekniske Universitet) is situated in Kongens Lyngby, north of Copenhagen, Denmark.
It was first established in 1829 with efforts of Hans Christian Ørsted and was Denmark’s first polytechnic university.
Today, the University ranks amongst Europe’s best engineering institutions. According to QS World University Rankings DTU is ranked as No. 112 in the World whereas Times Higher Education World University Rankings DTU ranks it as No. 121 in the World.
Campus
Located on a plain know as Lundtoftesletten, the campus id divided into two by a road known as Anker Engelunds Vej and perpendicular to that by two lengthy, collinear roads located on either side of a parking lot.
Thus, the campus is divided into 4 parts, called quadrants numbered 1 to 4.
The area was previously home to the airfield Lundtofte Flyveplads.
