Student Visa – How to Apply
1.Visa and Authorization Procedure
You are required to send all tour application requirements and documents to the immigration section of the New Zealand High Commission. Your documents submitted should be either originals or notarized photocopies or witnessed by an Immigration Officer of New Zealand.
You are that you must provide an acceptance letter from your University of choice and thus must begin applying at least 6 months prior.
2.Documents Required while Submitting :
i. The complete Student Application form.
ii. A Complete Questionnaire
iii. Official letter of acceptance from a University or college
iv. Payment for your course fee
v. Show you are exempt from fee if you have a Scholarship
vi. IELTS/TOEFL Score
vii. A guarantee of accommodation either from University or the person providing you accommodation
viii.A valid passport , which must be valid for the time you plan to study there
ix. A clean criminal record
x. Bank draft for application fee.
3.Evidence of Funds :
Either your sponsor fills a ‘ sponsoring student form’ in which he or she takes an undertaking to provide you with financial assistance an transfer NZ 7,000 a year.
OR
A letter your University confirming they have received tour fees for living.
OR
A bank document showing the funds you require to live in new Zealand
OR
An award of scholarship
4.Interview :
An interview with the Visa officer of New Zealand may be planned . Questions related to the rules and regulations of the country will be asked.
5.Medical Examination:
Students and accompanying dependants must pass the medical examination set by the High Commission of New Zealand. If the candidate passes the exam, the Visa will be authorized.
6.Special Points :
If you wish to live for more than 24 months , you will need :
i. A complete New Zealand Immigration service medical and X-ray certificates.
ii. Character clearance, which must have two original character references or a police clearance certificate if you are above 17.
