Leisure, Travel and Tourism
Tourism is travel for pleasure; also the theory and practice of touring, the business of attracting, accommodating, and entertaining tourists, and the business of operating tours. Leisure has been defined as a quality of experience or as free time. Travel is the movement of people between relatively distant geographical locations, and can involve travel by foot, bicycle, automobile, train, boat, airplane, or other means, with or without luggage, and can be one way or round trip. Tourism may be international, or within the traveler's country. Tourism can be domestic or international, and international tourism has both incoming and outgoing implications on a country's balance of payments. Leisure as experience usually emphasizes dimensions of perceived freedom and choice. It is done for "its own sake", for the quality of experience and involvement.
