NEET-PG is a single qualifying cum ranking examination which is mandatory for students to take who wish to pursue various MD/MS and PG Diploma courses according to the section 10 of Indian Medical Council Act 1956.
The exam is a single window entrance exam and w.e.f. from 2017 admission no other exam either at state or institution level will be deemed as valid for entry to MD/MS/PG diploma courses.
The exam will held on December 5 and will conclude on December 13. It will be conducted across 81 centers at 41 cities. It consists of 300 multiple choice type questions which are based on MBBS curriculum followed at medical colleges in India as prescribed by the Graduate Medical Education Regulation notified by the Medical Council of India with approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
On February 20, Kamineni Srinivas, Health Minister of Andhra Pradesh met with JP Nadda, Union Minister and asked for lowering the cut-off for the NEET exam center in Tirupati's Rayalaseema region to facilitate students. JP Nadda has given positive response to the request of the Srinivas of reducing the qualifying marks.
