On Wednesday, West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee announced that West Bengal’s state board exams (class 12) will be conducted in June. The CM also stated that class 11th and college students will be promoted to the next class and semester respectively without exams. West Bengal has already conducted class 10th exams and papers are being evaluated.
The class 12th state board exams were postponed until April 15 as a precautionary measure amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, in the view of the current scenario, the government has been asked to postpone the exam even further.
The CM said that the education department will take the final decision about conducting the exams after reviewing the situation and as per the advisory of the health department.
"The students of class 11 and colleges would be promoted to the next class and semesters," the chief minister said today.
This week Ms. Banerjee had announced that schools and colleges will remain close until June 10.
