The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued instructions to all its affiliated schools in which it has asked the schools to observe ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ from October 29 to November 3, 2018. This year, the theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week is 'Eradicate Corruption-Build a New India'.
In the instructions, CBSE has asked the schools to conduct activities during the week which reflect the same theme. The circular also stressed on sustaining these activities over a period of time so that moral and ethical values can be ingrained permanently in the younger minds.
CBSE has also asked the schools to lay special emphasis on 'ethics and integrity during examination' among the students of class 10th and 12th which will appear for their board exams in 2019.
Following are some of the activities suggested by the CBSE
- Displaying of banners, hoardings, posters etc.
- Administering 'Integrity Pledge' in the school on 29.10.2018 for students, teachers and other staff members.
- Creating awareness among students and staff members on the ill effects of corruption.
- Organizing special lectures, panel discussions, quiz, debates, essay writing competition, slogan writing competition etc on the suggested theme
- Organizing workshop in schools on the theme 'Eradicate Corruption-Build a New India'.
- Encouraging students and staff members to take the e-pledge by visiting Central Vigilance Commission's website -- cvc.nic.in
To ensure the proper execution of the order, CBSE has also asked the school to submit the report on the same on or before November 7, 2018.
