The registration window for the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2018 is now open. Candidates who are interested in appearing for the exam can register by visiting the official website of the NET. The registration window will remain open until September 30, 2018. NET will be held twice a year. The first NET exam is scheduled from December 9 to 23, 2018 and second will be conducted in the month of July 2019.
Every year, the exam is conducted to fill the post of assistant professor and junior research fellowship.
Application fee
- General category : INR 1000
- Reserve category OBC : INR 500
- Reserve category (SC/ ST/ PwD/ transgender): INR 250
Eligibility criteria
Candidates are required to have 55 percent in their Master’s degree or equivalent exam from the recognized university. For the candidates belonging to the OBC, Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Disability (PwD) and transgender category there is a relaxation of 5 percent.
Candidates who are pursuing their final year can also apply for the exam but are required to complete their master’s within two years from the date of declaration of the NET result with the required percentage.
