On Tuesday, Bihar Chief Minister told about the Bihar government's plan to introduce the online board exams in order to bring transparency and prevent cheating during the exams. He said that government is all set to bring the new exam pattern into effect by making the tests and evaluations online.
As per the reports, he said "This will bring for overall transparency and to end chances of manual interference.'' He further added, "We are also mulling online evaluation by taking information like questions asked, the name of the evaluator, answers and model answers to the online system."
Topper's scam
In 2016, Bihar's government reputation was slandered when topper's scam came into light which exposed mafia's involvement in the state's education system. This year as well, the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) paper was leaked due to which the exam had to be cancelled.
BSSC paper leak led to the disapproval of as many 56 intermediate colleges and their affiliations were cancelled as the exam muckrake came into light. Nitish Kumar said"in last few years, the state government had worked hard to improve the education sector, particularly school education, but due to vested interest of some people, the sector has earned a bad name."
