Yesterday, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh launched the ‘StudentPolice Cadetʼ program on the national level. The main idea of the program is to build the bridge between the police and students through education and classes. The program will focus on the students studying in classes VIII and IX. The initial phase of the program will be implemented in all the government schools in urban and rural areas, said the official statement.
Speaking to the reporter on the launch of the program, Singh expressed the hope that the program will focus on the character building and imparting moral values to the mind. Each school will receive a sum on INR 50,000 for organizing the educational assistance, training and contingencies under the program.
Singh further elaborated on the program details and said that a sum on INR 67 crore for the same has already been disbursed to the states. Singh said that the schools are creating tremendous pressure on the students days and promoting the cut-throat competition.
“While the dawn of new technologies, internet and social media have helped children keep pace with the changing times, it has also adversely impacted our society as we witness the breakdown of the traditional family system, and worrying rise in the incidents of crimes and rapes,” he added.
