The registration process for the ICAI CPT (Common Proficiency Test) will commence from the October 4. All the candidates who want to apply for the same can do so by visiting the official website icaiexam.icai.org once the process has started. The last date for the registrations is October 25, 2018 and the exam is scheduled for December 16, 2018.
The exam will be conducted in two sessions:
Morning session: 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Section A – Fundamentals of Accounting
Section B – Mercantile Laws
Afternoon session: 2 pm to 4 pm
Section C – General Economics
Section D – Quantitative Aptitude
Eligibility criteria
Candidates interested in the applying for the exam must have passed or appeared in the secondary examination (10+2 examination) or equivalent. They should be registered for/switched over to common proficiency course with the board of studies of ICAI on or before June 30, 2017.
Paper pattern
The exam will e conducted in the paper-pencil mode and the duration of the exam will be four hours.
The exam will be objective in nature and negative marks will be awarded to the students for marking the wrong answers.
Exam fee
Candidates will be required to pay the exam fee via online mode and for that they can use either visa or master credit/debit card/rupay card/net banking.
Fee for centers in India: Rs 1,000
Fee for centers in Kathmandu (Nepal): Rs 1,700
Fee for centers in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai and Muscat: $ 300
