On Monday, the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) said that its online entrance exams will be 'non-discriminatory’ and will bring more transparency to the system. The student union of JNU has declared the university’s move to conduct an online entrance exam a massive scam as the university is already facing a cash crunch.
However, Professor Chintamani Mahapatra of the university said “the online exam will test the range of knowledge of students and the idea was introduced after conducting a feasibility study.”
He further added that a feasibility study found that online exams can be conducted without the wastage of any money and the online exam will be conducted by the national testing agency.
Students will have a chance to acquaint themselves with the online exam system via mock tests and same chance will be given on the day of the exam an hour before the commencement of the test.
