The central board of secondary education had recently added one more examination center for the upcoming CBSE NEET 2017 exam. The single entrance exam is conducted by the CBSE and is given by the students who wish to pursue the career in MBBS/BDS. The exam is approved by the Medical Council of India and Dental council of India.
According to the latest notice released by the board another center has been added in Nanded (Maharashtra) making the total number to center 104 now.
On March 24, 2017 the Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD), Prakash Javadekar said that the NEET will be conducted in 23 new centers across the country. According to the reports CBSE decided to add new centers as some states governments such as Tami Nadu rejected the NEET exam due to the inaccessibility of the exam centers for the students from the rural areas.
Further, as many as 11,35,104 candidates have registered for the exam which is 41.42 percent more than previous year. In 2016, 8,02,594 registered for the NEET. With the increase in the number of centers for the NEET exam, NEET has equivalent number of centers as JEE (Main) exam. This year the exam will be held in 10 languages- Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujrati, Tamil, Marathi, Tamil, Telegu, Odia and Kannada.
