National law university released an official circular regarding the All India National Law Entrance Test (AILET) which said that the exam will be conducted on May 6, 2018. The duration of the exam will be of one hour from 3 pm to 4 pm and will be conducted at various centers across the nation.
Every year, the exam in conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates for the five-year BA LLB (Hons) program, one-year LLM and PhD programs.
The application forms for the same will be available in the first week of the January on the official website. Every year thousands of students appear for the exam to get admission into the popular BA LLB (Hons) course. This year only 73 seats are available and out of these only 52 are open for the general category students. Out of the rest of the seats 11 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes category, 5 seats for Scheduled Tribes category, 2 for Persons with Disabilities and 3 for Kashmiri Migrants.
There are also 10 additional seats for the foreign nationals.
Eligibility
BA LLB: Candidate must have passed the class 12 exams or senior secondary school examination in any discipline with minimum of 50 percent marks. Those students who will appear for the class 12 exams in March/April can also apply for the AILET 2018.
LLM: Candidate must have an LLB or equivalent degree from a recognized university with at least 55 percent aggregate. For SC/ST category there is a relaxation of 5 percent.
PhD course: Candidate must have master's degree in law with minimum of 55 percent marks however, for SC/ST category there is a relaxation of 5 percent marks.
