Feasibility Stuady has been done at Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Aerospace Laboratory (CSIR-NAL), Bangalore for National Civil Aircraft Development (NCAD) Programme.Rs 7555 crore is estimated requirement out of which Rs 4355 crore is for design and development and Rs 3200 crore for series production phase. The Programmehas two phases: design and development: and manufacturing.It is anticipated that industry in the private sector will be involved in both the phases.
The Planning Commission has recommended that CSIR could move a Cabinet Note foe in-principle approval of the programme.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Shri Ashwani Kumar in a written reply to a question by Shri Tarachand Bhagora in Lok Sabha today.
