"In view of the clash in the dates of JEE (Advanced) 2019 and the last phase of General Elections 2019, the examination date of JEE (Advanced) 2019 has been shifted to May 27, 2019 (Monday)," reads an official update. This year, the JEE exam will be conducted under the aegis of IIT-Roorkee. Candidates who will qualify JEE mains exam will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. The exam is a second stage eligibility test for pursuing undergraduate courses at various IITs of the nation. JEE Mains was conducted by the National Testing Agency.
Initially, the exam was scheduled for May 19, 2019. The second edition of the JEE Mains exam is scheduled for 8, 9, 10 and 12 April. The admit cards for the same are expected to released anytime soon.
Starting this year, JEE Mains is being held twice a year and the best of the two scores will be considered while shortlisting the candidates for the JEE Advanced exam and for the admissions given on the basis of the JEE Mains exam.
JEE Advanced exam is a qualifying exam for getting admissions into Undergraduate Engineering courses at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by participating State Government.
