Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has stressed that it is high time to adopt an integrated and value-based education system in India which can focus on the all-round and holistic development of an individual so that they can face the challenges of the 21st century.
He said this as he was addressing the centenary celebrations of Patna High School, in Patna.
"National Education Policy 2019 envisions an India-centric education system that contributes directly to transforming our nation sustainability into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society by providing high-quality education to all," said Naidu in an official statement.
He also urged the intellectuals and others to study the draft of the education policy and give their valuable suggestions. He also encouraged the students to stay ahead in the field of Information Technology in areas such as Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things.
He also said that education should not be seen as a mere tool to gain employment but education must make a person a responsible citizen who can understand the sufferings of the other and be sympathetic to them. He also emphasized the importance of qualities such as discipline, hard work, righteousness and honesty.
He also pointed out the importance of physical fitness in the lives of young students.
