From November 5th to November 8th, the 5th edition of the India International Science Festival will be held at Kolkata. The annual event will be held at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre & Science City Kolkata. The event will be attended by the officials of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Science. Vijnana Bharati or VIBHA is organizing partner of the IISF.
It is expected that more than 12000 schools and colleges will attend the four-day event from across the nation.
First organized in 2015, IISF envisions and promote science and technology by showing how STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) provides us the solutions which continuously improve our lives.
The first IISF was held in December 2015 in Delhi where 2000 students performed two experiments and set the world record. This year again students will repeat Jagadis Chandra Bose' radio wave experiments and CV Raman's experiments involving light as India aims to set another world record.
The second IISF was hosted by Delhi in 2016 at the CSIR-National Physical Laboratory. The fest is supported by Vigyan Parishad, AICTE, CSIR, ISRO, ICAR, ICMR and DRDO.
