The QS World University rankings are out and the Indian Universities have yet again given us a reason to feel proud. QS or Quacquarelli Symonds is one of the most renowned education analysts in the world and releases a list of top Universities in the BRICS nations each year.
This year, as many as 44 Indian Universities have made it to the list. However, the Indian Universities have lost their high positions this year.
While IISc, Bangalore (Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore) managed to hold on to the sixth rank, the famed Delhi University has got 41st rank this year. Last year, DU was ranked at 46th position. The list has 250 of the best universities in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) nations. China has topped with 86 universities while Russia and Brazil have 55 universities and 54 universities respectively.
As per the inputs provided by careerindia, the research team of QS stated that a number of Indian universities impressed the QS researchers due to their outstanding work and contribution in the field of research. The research papers published by some of the Indian Universities are competent enough to stand parallel to those of the top Universities of China, Brazil and Russia.
Another reason behind India's strong show in the rankings is that most of their staffs comprise good number of PhD holders.
