Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) has announced a notification regarding the registration for Common Admission Test 2016 (CAT 2016) with the coveted All India management entrance examination scheduled to be conducted on December 4 this year.
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer based test held in India. The test scores a candidate on the bases of Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR). The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started this exam and use the test for selecting students for their business administration programs. This year, CAT will be conducted in two sessions "” forenoon and afternoon sessions across 138 cities. The duration of the exam will for at least 180 minutes. The candidates will be given options to select for test cities in order of preferences.
As per the eligibility criteria of the examination, a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average is necessary for general category students to be eligible for CAT. In the notification it is mentioned that, applicants can register online form from August 8 - September 22, till 5 pm. Registration fee will have to be paid online. Candidates can download their admit card from October 18-December 4.
