Till November 30 all schools in Haryana will operate from 9 am to 3:30 pm. The decision to change the school timings is made by the Haryana government due to dense smog which has engulfed the state during past few days.
Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said that these order regarding the new timings will be applicable from immediate effect.
"The government has decided that the schools timing will be 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. till November 30," said Rajiv Rattan, Special Secretary to Haryana government (School Education Department).
R.S. Sangwan, Deputy Director, Public Relations Officer of Haryana (National Capital Region), told IANS: "We have received the copy of order and it will be strictly implemented from Wednesday.
Schools which will fail to comply with order will face strict action.
The MeT department has said that the situation in unlikely to change in next few days as winds are calm and rains are unlikely to happen.
