Up until now, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was the prime authority for conducting the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT), but from next year, the responsibility has been shifted to newly formed National Testing Agency. Candidates who will clear the test will be eligible to seek admission into the Master’s programs in the field of Pharmacy. The application process for the same has commenced from today i.e. November 1, 2018 and candidates who are interested in applying for the exam can visit the official website -- ntagpat.nic.in for the application process.
GPAT is a three hour exam which is conducted every year and the scores of the exam are considered by the colleges affiliated and approved by AICTE.

Closing date for application submission: November 30, 2018
Date of examination: 28th January 2019

Steps to apply for the exam
- Visit the official website as mentioned above
- Fill the application form with your correct academic records. Also, you should keep scanned copies of your certificate with you
- Pay the fee. The fee for the exam can either be made online or offline using the challan
Eligibility criteria
- Candidate must have completed its bachelor’s degree including the formal schooling up to class 12
- Students studying in the final year of the B Pharmacy can also apply for the exam
- B Tech (pharmaceutical and fine chemical technology)/equivalent students are not eligible to apply
About GPAT
The duration of the exam is three hours and it consists of 125 questions. Candidates will be given 4 marks for each correct answer. A total of 841 institutions participate in GPAT, offering about 24,096 seats for candidates.
