For many decades now, thousands of Indian students have been going abroad to pursue higher education of their choice. However, the government never had a compiled database of these students. But this is about to change very soon with the government now starting due registration of all the Indian students studying abroad.
The government has taken this step in order to make sure that the students are provided all the advise and help in case of any need.
As per the official communication released by the ministry, the registration module for the students has been successfully placed with the MADAD portal of the ministry, as part of the Consular Services Management System. The data registration on this module is voluntary in nature and is expected to give to the government vital information regarding the migration of students abroad, the courses they are taking up and other related information.
All this exercise is being taken up by the Ministry of External Affairs which is mandated to maintain foreign relations of India with other nations. It is also charged with advising the other ministries and state governments on relationships with foreign institutions or governments.
