As per the CM of Kerala Mr. Vijayan, the salient features of the public sector school were to provide education to students from all parts of the society immaterial of any caste or financial barriers. According to him, the public sector schools have maintained a high standard of education and government had initiated various steps to improve the infrastructure.
He was disappointed saying that self-financing educational institutions have become commercial institutions these days and commented on the same by saying that running an educational institution is more profitable than running a liquor business.
Furthermore, the then congress-led UDF minister had opened up the educational sector in Kerala for self-financing streaming in early 2000. But the self-financing institutions are running without following guidelines of the same. He added that government was planning to make the class-rooms hi-tech and improve the infrastructure.
He assured that the government will take care of the training of the teachers in order to tune their way of teaching. This educational model of Kerala has garnered a lot of attention from all across the globe.
