For introducing the online tests, the Delhi University is inviting the bids from the private players. The private player will be responsible for conducting the ‘Online Computer-based Entrance Test’ for different courses across 18 cities for upcoming 2018-19 academic year.
The online entrance test will be conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates for the under-graduate, post graduate, M Phil and PhD courses offered by the university.
A notice issued by the university in the same regard said 'the bidder will have to conduct the exam, handle its administration, logistics and process results and give it to the university'.
“Question paper will be objective-type with multiple choice questions of two hours duration. Medium of the test would be English or Hindi or both and will be conducted in three shifts — 8-10 am, 12-2 pm and 4-6 pm,” the notice on the DU website said.
The notice further said that the last date to submit the bid is March 8 and the bidder will have to pay an earnest amount of INR 25 lakh.
The admission committee of the University was not available for the comments.
Delhi University Students’ Union president Rocky Tuseed said that an option for the offline process should also be made available for the students.
“We are not against the online entrance exam but there should be offline process as well. All students may not be in the capacity to know the online entrance procedure and how to give online test,” Tuseed said.
