In a recent job notification, the Buckingham Palace said that it is looking to hire a ‘Social Media Manager’ who would be charged with handling the personal twitter account of Queen Elizabeth! It is known that she has close to 2.77 million followers on twitter as of now.
Placed on the official website of the queen, the job notification said that there is a requirement of a new ‘digital communications officer’ who would be joining the dynamic and fast paced team of the queen. As per the advertisement, "It's knowing your content will be viewed by millions. It's finding new ways to maintain The Queen's presence in the public eye and on the world stage. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional."
The advertisement mentions that the candidate must be ‘innovative and have a creative flair’, along with possessing great video and photography skills. Apart from twitter, the Queen’s Facebook and Youtube accounts and documentation of the other state visits of the Queen and her other engagements would be the responsibility of the social media manager.
The salary for the job is 30,000 pounds per year which translate into Rs 25,12,410 annually. It also includes a 15% employer contribution pension scheme. Last year in June, when the Queen celebrated her 90th birthday, she posted a personal tweet saying, "I am most grateful for the many digital messages of goodwill I have received and would like to thank you all for your kindness. Elizabeth R."
