In an attempt to save the environment by reducing the use of paper, CBSE has gone digital with the board mark-sheets. As of now, CBSE has opened around 80 lakh digital lockers for the board students. The digital lockers will be used to distribute mark-sheets, signed certificated (pass and migration) to the students.
All the certificates were pushed digitally on the day of the results declarations which made it easy for the students to apply for the higher education. All the certificates were pushed with the PKI based QR codes.
CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination) already follows the process of distributing the mark-sheets and certificates through the digital locker to the students.
In the last six months. CBSE has helped in saving around 50 thousand trees and up to 30 crore paper sheets. Using the digital system has also helped the board in saving around 100 crore rupees which were earlier used to print the papers used by the board.
With the inclusion of the digital systems, the system has become more transparent which is very beneficial for the students. The board has also shifted towards the online process for conducting the exams, issuing admit cards and even the official notifications from the CBSE has gone digital too.
