The Allahabad University held the exam for PGAT-2016 for admission to all courses on its campus on June 24 despite the chaos created by the question paper leak rumour of the entrance exam general awareness paper.
The test was held at about 80 online centres and 26 offline centres across 18 cities of the country.
The test commenced, as per the schedule, at the time slot allotted by the authorities for the same. The exam for PGAT begin in the first slot began from 9am and lasted till 12 noon, the second slot allotted by the University authorities for M Ed, B Ed and other professional courses was from 2pm to 5pm.
The test was conducted at 8 online and 5 offline centres in Allahabad.
Apparently, when students were appearing for the exam, pictures of the question paper were circulated on a Whatsapp group of the Allahabad University authorities.
Their purpose to circulate the pages (Hindi medium questions) was media presence in the right time and provision of admission details to the media.
Some student leaders allegedly reported that the GS paper was leaked, although the authorities have denied any such event's occurrence.
Prof B N Singh director admission Allahabad University was concerned over the issue of the leaking of question paper but also said that it was not possible because at the time of exam, cell phones are prohibited in the premises.
The director further added, "I have received some complaints about cheating at one of the room at a test centre of the entrance for combined research entrance test (CRET), conducted on Thursday and I am looking onto the matter and may debar the involved room."
