an event organised in a private school, he said that private schools should
strictly follow transparency in admissions and fee structure and collection and
not compromise on their principles to earn profits.
The Delhi government has announced the schedule for the year
2017-18 and the applications should be submitted on or before January 2, according
to the Directorate of Education. As per the admission process, the first list
of selected students and marks obtained, will be announced on February 15, and
the second list will be declared on
February 28. Admission procedure will be over on March 31.
The directorate has informed all private schools to display
the admission criteria, along with points for the open seats, on their official
websites before January 1. In pre-schools, pre-primary and Class 1, twenty-five
per cent of seats will be reserved for economically weaker sections and
disadvantaged groups (EWS/DG). If the schools remain transparent while
admitting the students without unnecessary fee charges, then the government
will support the schools, otherwise stern action will be taken, was the clear
dictum stated by Sisodiya, who is in charge of the education portfolio. The minister
appreciated the efforts and the quality of education offered by the private
schools and promised the same for the government schools.
