School team of DAV Pokhairput, Bhubaneswar won the special edition of HDFC Life School Quiz 2012 overcoming stiff challenge from De Paul School, Vishakhapatnam and Bright Lands School, Dehradun. HDFC Life School Quiz 2012 saw on-air participation from as many as 72 teams from 22 different cities. The national level school quiz is an initiative of ESPN STAR Sports' Event Management Group. Famous commentator and presenter Alan Wilkins was the host of the quiz show.
Dibyendu Mishra and Baibhab Pattnaik from DAV Pokhariput won two of the three National finals to emerge all-India winners of the HDFC Life School Quiz 2012. M. Suman Sangeeth and P. Sri Harsha of De Paul School, Vishakhapatnam and T.M.Ravikiran and Twisham Srivastava of Bright Lands School Dehradun made their schools proud by reaching the national finale of the quiz.
The HDFC Life School Quiz 2012 had maximum representation from Delhi NCR Region with as many as 10 teams out of 72 nationally coming from Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida region. Kolkata came in second with 8 teams making it to the TV rounds of the quiz while the state of Goa comes third with as many as 6 teams. 4 teams each have qualified from Dehradun, Trivandrum & Visakhapatnam. Mumbai, Kochi, Pune & Ahmedabad are being represented by 3 teams each. Bengaluru, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Chennai, Lucknow, Siliguri, Patna, Bhopal, Guwahati & Bhubaneswar have 2 teams each making it to the TV rounds of the quiz.
