In an order issued, the Department of Higher Education in West Bengal said that all government, government-aided, and private education institutes and training institutes will remain closed until June 10.
Amid the COVID-19 breakout, the government has ordered to close all the educational institutes until June 10. A notice in this regard has also been sent to all Vice-Chancellors of all the universities in the state.
Some departments of the colleges and universities such as office of the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Finance/Examination Department, Head of the Institute along with emergency services like electricity, cleanliness, water supply, security etc. are allowed only under the strict observation parameters of the COVID-19 protocol.
Until June 10, colleges and hostels will remain close and respective institutes are required to make adequate medical arrangements for the foreign students who cannot leave hostel. Without prior approval from the Head of the concerned institute visitors are not allowed inside the hostels.
Though the current lockdown period is expected on end on May 3, the situation over the complete functioning of the educational institutes is unknown.
