This year, the higher education department of the Odisha government has decided to hold the elections for the student union in all the degree colleges on September 23.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik gave the green flag to the approval.
According to the proposal the election in several degree colleges and universities will be held on September 23 while the process for the same will start on September 15.
The candidates can file their nominations from 9 am to 12 pm on September 16 and the final list of the candidates will be released in September 18.
The meeting 'What I Stand for' is scheduled for September 22 and polling will be done on September 23. The final results will be declared after counting the votes on same day.
The higher education department also made it clear that there will be no student elections in plus II colleges as they are now a part of School and Mass Education department.
