Compartment exams for class 12 students have been proposed by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) or UP Board.
UP Board Additional Secretary Shiv Lal informed indianexpress, “The proposal is under consideration and will be implemented for the upcoming board exams. Students who fail in one or more subjects will get a second chance under this.”
The board also conducts compartmental exams for class 10. The move to introduce class 12 compartment exams will impact an additional 25.86 lakh students who have registered for the class 12 board exams 2020.
UP board has already taken several strict measures to ensure that exams are conducted in cheating free environment and now it has even amped up its security measures by introducing webcasting which will enable live monitoring of the exams. Additional secretary informed that each district will have a resource center from where they will be able to monitor every exam center. The board is also planning to introduce a state-level monitoring system.
This year, a total of 56,11,689 students have applied to appear in the UP Board exams.
