The official notification for the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) exam has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). As mentioned in the notification, the exam will be conducted by the authority on July 8 (Sunday). Candidates who are interested in applying for the same can do so by visiting the official website-- cbsenet.nic.in. The registrations for the exams will begin from March 5, 2018.
Educational Qualification: Candidates need to have minimum 55 percent marks Master's degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university or institution. For the candidates from the backward classes, there is a relaxation of 5 percent.
Age limit: As on July 1, 2018, candidate's age must not exceed 30 years. For the candidates from the OBC classes, there is a relaxation of 5 years. For the post of Assistant professor, there is no upper age limit.
Exam pattern
Paper 1
- Total marks: 100
- Total questions: 50 (all compulsory)
- Duration: 1 hour (9:30 am to 10:30 am)
Paper 2
- Total marks: 200
- Total questions: 100 (all compulsory)
- Duration: 2 hours (11 am to 1 pm)
