It is expected that Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will release the entire schedule of class 10 and 12 vocational exams today. Once released, candidates will be able to check the schedule by visiting the official website of CBSE -- cbse.nic.in. Earlier, speaking to indianexpress.com, an official from CBSE exam cell said, “The entire schedule of Class 10, 12 vocational examinations will come by Friday, October 5.”
For years, CBSE had conducted the annual exams of class 10 and 12 in the month of March but, from the next year onward, the same exams will be conducted in the month of February. Exams were moved a month earlier because students sometime miss the opportunity of applying to colleges due to the long evaluation process of the CBSE.
Apart from the 40 different vocational subjects, the board will also conduct the exams for Typography and Computer Applications (English), Web applications, Graphics, Office Communication, etc in February as these exams have a greater practical importance and shorter duration of the exam.
In a media release, the board said “Due to the advancement of the datasheet, CBSE can release the main and re-evaluation results earlier to facilitate students to get admissions in degree courses in various universities in India”.
Last year, a total of 10.76 lakh students had applied for the exams of which 10.20 lakh students appeared for the same. The exams were held by the board from march to April.
