Candidates who want that their sheets are re-evaluated can apply for the process from Friday. Re-checking the answer sheets is the first step in the re-evaluation process.
In 2017, CBSE had ended the process of re-evaluation but students were not happy with the decision and approached the Delhi High Court. On court’s orders that board will re-evaluate the answer sheets on the first come first serve basis.
Within few hours of declaring the results, all the 28 lakh candidates received their certificates on the digilocker.

Announcing the dates, HRD secretary Anil Swarup tweeted, “Rechecking/re-evaluation process and details for Classes X and XII CBSE examinations now available on CBSE web portal.”
The process is favorable to the students but not cheap as for rechecking candidates have to shell out INR 500 per subject and the cost of getting a photocopy of an answer book is INR 700 for class XII. For re-evaluation candidates from both classes will have to shell out INR 100 per question.

In 2014 CBSE had decided to allow the allow the facility of re-evaluation to the students of class XII. Initially, only 7 subjects namely English, Hindi, physics, chemistry, mathematics, political science and economics were covered and later the facility was extended to 11 subjects. However, in 2017 the board withdrew the facility.
In Feb 2017, after students approached the Delhi HC, the HC upheld the students’ right to be re-evaluated in all the subjects. The court also struck down the selective re-evaluation policy of the board and termed its decision as eccentric. However; in June 2017, the board gave the undertaking that the board will relax its verification scheme and re-evaluation facility will be provided on first come and first serve basis.
