Board exams scheduled for 86 exam centers in North-East Delhi have been postponed by the Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE. The exams were postponed due to violence related to Citizenship (Amendment) Act. So far, the violence has claimed the lives of 10 people. So, keeping the safety of children in mind CBSE postponed the board exams.
Students of class 10 had an exam of English and class 12 students had an exam of 'Web Application' and 'Media'.
"Based on the request of Directorate of Education, Govt. of Delhi and to avoid inconvenience to students, staff and parents, the Board has decided to postpone the following subject exams scheduled for 26.02 2020 in North East Part of Delhi," the Board said in a statement.
"Schools in violence-affected Northeast Delhi will remain closed tomorrow. Internal exams have been postponed. CBSE is also requested to postpone tomorrow's board exam," Manish Sisodia tweeted in Hindi.
Exams in rest of the Delhi will be conducted on schedule and the new date of exam for the affected centers will be released soon.
